About Me
I’ve been doing a sport, or a couple at once, for as long as I can remember. Gymnastics, dancing, cross country and hockey are all on the list. But when Mum and Dad told me I didn’t have enough time in the week to continue to participate in all the sports I was, triathlons is the sport I decided to choose. I fooled Mum and Dad with that one, as it’s three sports in one.
In 2004 I was watching the Olympics on TV and the triathlon came on. After watching it, I wanted to try it. So Mum and Dad joined me up to the local triathlon club, now called Fremantle Triathlon Club, at 9 years of age. 11 years later and I’m still apart of the same club and love triathlons as much as I did as a 9 year old. I’m a little bit faster at it now though.
I’m now 20 years old and live on the Gold Coast, Queensland. I was born in Perth, Western Australia, but moved to the Gold Coast half way through 2014 to continue chasing my ambitions in triathlons with my coach Dan Atkins. My younger sister and favourite training partner Kira, moved over once she graduated school last year. We live together and are both apart of the Triathlon Australia Gold Coast National Performance Centre. I’m also studying a Bachelor of Digital Media at Griffith University.
I live a life a bit different to the average 20 year old and one I hadn’t imagined I would 10 or so years ago, but I absolutely love it and wouldn’t change it. I hope you enjoy this little slice of my triathlon life I can share with you.
